“Together where needed”, APOSTOLI and “MASOUTIS” supermarkets offered food parcels to 409 vulnerable families via the Holy Metropolis of Alexandroupolis, Didymoteicho, Orestiados and Soufli.
APOSTOLI’s General Manager, Constantinos Dimtsas, stressed the problems of survival of hundreds of Greek families, due to the financial crisis, in the border area of Evros and the efforts of APOSTOLI along with Holy Metropolis and “MASOUTIS” to overcome the difficulties. The Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Mr. Ieronymos, has long ago expressed his anxiety thereon.
Metropolitan of Alexandroupolis, Mr. Anthimos, said that APOSTOLI offers Christian support to families and children, who are the hope of our country.
Metropolitan of Didymoteicho, Orestiada and Soufli, Mr. Damaskinos, stated that caring is the most important APOSTOLI’s offer to the people living at the crossroads of civilizations and religions, by bringing Christ’s love to them, as a lasting compass of peace, to enlighten East and West.
“Together where needed” offered 1,040 food packages to selected families in Alexandroupolis, Didymoteicho, Orestiada, Ioannina and Chalkida, based on a ranking methodology following priority selection criteria. The program can be extended to other areas in Greece.
