Homeless in Athens

On June 9 APOSTOLI once again staggered on benches, city squares and underground passages, distributing food parcels to the invisible people of Athens: drug addicts, released detainees, destitute people searching for a shelter to spend the night in card boxes. Recently more people have been added: retirees, financially weak people, fellow-citizens in despair due to the crisis, even cancer patients, who are queue stacked at Oncology Hospitals during day and at the tails of free-meal queues at night, souls who seek the freedom of isolation anywhere: at a street corner or a Church courtyard.

Parcels contain dry food, sweets, water and fruit juices, sometimes also bed linen, clothing, footwear and personal care items, depending on the weather, circumstances and demands.
