Easter meal for 10,250 families
145 tons of foods were offered in love parcels throughout Greece
An Easter meal was offered to 10,250 families, all over Greece, by youth of APOSTOLI, led by General Manager Konstantinos Dimtsas and in collaboration with Metropolises, Parishes, Municipalities, Schools, Associations and Institutions; in specific, the organization distributed more than 145 tons of food (dry and fresh products).
APOSTOLI also offered 1,537 jackets through “We Care” program of Marianna B. Vardinoyannis Foundation to elementary school students. The program will be extended to various regions of Greece, on priority basis.
Further, APOSTOLI visited families in Alexandroupolis, Arta, Didymoteicho, Orestiada, Soufli, Komotini, Kalloni at Lesvos, Ioannina, Preveza, Langadas, Tripoli, Karpenissi and Chalkida. Aid was also delivered to the Pan-Hellenic Association of Paraplegics and ESIEA.
Mr Dimtsas referred to the APOSTOLI initiative and the deep interest of Archbishop of Athens and of all Greece Mr. Ieronymos for the families that suffer and their children and reminded that Easter means “crossing, passing, leaving” and symbolizes the exit from frustration of poverty, economic deadlocks, turmoil, confusion of the refugee waves; and concluded saying “the Resurrection of our Lord shows the way of solidarity and love.”
